10-reasons-why-not-buy-scrubbing-bubbles

This product is designed to clean your shower using an electronic spray device that distributes an evaporative cleaner throughout your shower. While no one enjoys scrubbing down the bathroom walls, it is a price we have to pay for cleanliness. For now, there's no product that can do it any better.
1. First of all, the Automatic Shower Cleaner hangs from the shower head which can take up valuable space otherwise used for shower caddies and more useful storage. I had to take down my hanging shower rack and clutter the corners of the tub with my soap, shampoo, and shaving razors. Save some space. Don't buy it.

2. The 360 degree coverage by the rotating sprayer is limited, not reaching much higher than chest level and missing the area directly below. While the rotation does reach all four "walls," large areas remain untouched. I've found that even using the spray-it-yourself 'mist away' cleaner reaches more area than this product.

3. The cleaning fluid bottles last around two weeks (depending upon how clean you like it) which adds up to an extra $6-$8 per month on refills. While paying extra money for technologies of convenience is rampant, doing so monthly for a flawed concept can be quite inconvenient. The spray dispersion is insufficient, inefficient, and in the end, expensive.

4. The cleaning fluid goes fast due to much of the spray being wasted on the back wall, the wall the device hangs on. The same amount gets sprayed on the back wall that gets sprayed on the rest of the shower. While that one surface may be gleaming, the other walls are a different shade of "clean."

5. The sprayer also fails to cover surfaces uniformly, its streams only reaching streaky areas whereas a finer mist would produce more even coverage. The spray is designed to reach surfaces up to 8 feet away, but the power it needs to do so sacrifices much of its ability to consistently cover closer areas.

6. Because it is battery operated, the device requires another periodic expense for 4 AA batteries. While this is only necessary every 3 months or so, it's still another expense in addition to the refills. When are you finished paying for this product? Never.

7. There seems to be only one scent available for the cleaning fluid which tends to overpower the room after spraying. While this standard scent is pleasant, it can clash with the various potpourris and air fresheners people have in their bathrooms. More scents may be on the way, but for now you are limited to this one.

8. The 10 second beeping that counts down to activation is bothersome and can rush groggy bathers into scrambling over slippery tubs. The warning beep and spraying buzz are annoying, especially early in the morning, and they honestly hurry you out of the shower. Watch your toes. Don't want to stub them during your escape.

9. The design concept of the cleaner feels gimmicky, a novelty catering to the lazy and easily entertained. Convenient? Yes. But efficient? Worthwhile? Quality? Not so much. After watching how the device works a couple times, the novelty wears off and you start judging how clean your shower really is. Then you have to make an extra trip to the store just for more fluid bottles. This product is simply not worth it.

10. The Automatic Shower Cleaner simply cannot perform up to the standards of what it is attempting to replace. Good old fashioned wall scrubbing. So bust out those gloves, take half an hour, and save yourself some m

10-easy-steps-losing-clothing-clutter

1. Don't try to do it all at once! Set aside 15 minute increments once or twice a day, and attack only ONE drawer, shelf, or section of closet during each 15 minute block. This will help avoid burn-out. Drink your coffee and eat your chocolate in between cleaning times. This will avoid stains on clothes that had been perfectly nice the day before.
2. Before you start your closet clean-up, determine an acceptable size range to stick within. For example, if you are a medium in tops and dresses, decide you will automatically toss anything that is an XS or an XL (unless they somehow manage to do something REALLY great for your bustline…). Or, if you wear a size 7 in pants and skirts, decide you will keep down to a size 5 (assuming they stretch enough to cover your ass) or up to a size 9 (if they run tight enough to show off your ass). If you make this decision in advance, it will save you the "well, it might fit again someday" blues. Hopefully.

3. If you are going to try things on, bring a mirror to the closet rather than bringing the clothes to the mirror. A full-length mirror is preferable, a 3 way even better. Of course this may show you more than you actually wanted to see…like those love handles you didn't know your favorite jeans were creating…

4. For simple, honest opinions on how you look in something, don't ask your spouse or significant other. You know he'll just say what he thinks you want to hear, rather than risk his sex life. Ask your children (or somebody else's). They will be brutally honest. Just make sure you don't punish them for their honesty.

5. To avoid clash factor: For trying on shirts, wear jeans or black pants depending on whether the shirt is casual or dressy. When trying on pants, wear a plain black or white t-shirt, turtleneck or button-up shirt. When trying on skirts or dresses, wear a pair of plain black pumps. Try on blazers, jackets, and coats over a simple outfit of jeans and a black turtleneck. For heavier coats, make sure to wear an extra layer such as a sweater to make sure the coat will still button properly over it. Do not wear accessories while doing this as they just might fool you into thinking that horrible skintight purple dress looks halfway presentable (no, it doesn't…not even with diamonds…sorry).

6. If you have items you haven't worn lately because you can't find a matching outfit, now's the time to play matchmaker. Once you have made the perfect match between two previously single items, marry them! In other words, hang them in the closet on the same hanger. This way you won't have to go searching later to match them up again. If you can't find a perfect match for a specific item, decide whether or not you like it enough to go out and buy a matching piece. If you don't, toss it in the donation bag. See, this is easy. You just have to treat your clothes like ex-boyfriends!

7. Look carefully at every item for stains and damage. If you find either, sort the item into one of 3 categories: 1) It isn't worth fixing (socks and underwear are a given here) - get rid of it. 2) I can fix it myself (buttons) - put it aside for repair at a later date, but don't forget to do it. 3) I need to take it elsewhere for repairs (stains, zippers, fragile fabrics) - put it aside for your next trip to the drycleaners/alterations shop. And remember, if you haven't bothered to have it fixed w/in a month or two, get rid of it as it obviously isn't worth your time, money, or effort. Also applies to relationships.

8. Keep similar items together. Many people like to sort clothes by color, but I recommend sorting by type if you have the room to do so. I find it much simpler to locate things stored that way, especially if you don't have a lot of storage space and have to use storage bins. Make sure you label the storage bins with appropriate labels. And no, I don't mean "clothes I can wear next season if I lose 20 pounds," either.

9. Rather than having your closet stuffed full of off-season clothing year round, keep your off-season clothing stored away in a separate closet from your in-season clothing, or buy plastic bins and store them in an out of the way place. At the end of every season, when you swap out the boxes, make sure to get rid of anything that no longer fits or has lost its appeal to you. Or is so painfully out of fashion it has made the "don'ts" page in Glamour magazine.

10. Once you have filled a box or bag with clothes, immediately put it in your car and take it to a thrift shop or charity as soon as possible. Alternately, post it on your local Freecycle group (for local groups, check out www.freecycle.org). This will make it easier to avoid changing your mind. But remember, if the piece is damaged, no one else is going to want it either. Dispose of items that are just plain trash in a responsible manner. In other words, give them to that catty co-worker in the next cubicle who you know is out for your job.

8-ways-beat-heat

Ice or Ice water
Drinking plenty of fluids so that you do not become dehydrated is a great way to beat the heat. I have discovered how to beat the heat by just sucking crushed ice. This is a good way to keep cool and not become dehydrated. Do not forget that popsicles are not only good, but they can keep you cool as well.
Washing Hands and Hair

When you wash your hands, you may want to wash in warm water, but rinse in cold water. That cold-water rinse is quite a relief from the heat. Have you tried rinsing your hair in cold water? According to Susonnah Gonzalez at Naturallycurly.com, cold water closes the pores and prevents dirt from accumulating on the scalp. Do you recall when the Jeri-curl was popular? When preparing the Jeri-curl the final rinse was always cold water. I recall how some people's hair would really grow when they had a Jeri-curl. Now I can see why.

Air Conditioning

You might want to consider staying in your air conditioned home as much as possible as the heat rises. Enjoy the air conditioner.

Basement

Most basements are nice and cool. If you are lucky enough to have one, take advantage of it during the hot days of summer.

Ceiling Fans

Ceiling Fans are excellent for cooling your home. Many business establishments including several restaurants that I have been in have ceiling fans to help cool their rooms.

Cool Shower

Try taking a cool shower. You do not need to wait until morning or night, take a shower during the day. Not only will you be clean, but you will be cool as well.

Swimming Pool

Take advantage of your swimming pool or a friend's swimming pool. This is the time to use it and beat the heat.

Open Those Windows:

Even if you have air conditioning, there are some days you may find a nice cool breeze can be more refreshing and cooling. If this happens, give your air conditioning a time off. Cool breezes like this might be a rarity.

According to Leona Perry at Web MD, stated that some community members stated the heat is keeping rheumatoid arthritis suffers awake at night. So staying cool can be very vital to your sleep and your health as well.

6-easy-steps-smooth-sexy-lips

We all want a good-looking kisser, but we lose some of our youthful pucker-power as we age. If rough, thin lips surrounded by fine lines are where you're at or where you're headed, fight those signs of aging and reclaim your pucker-power with these 6 easy steps to smooth, sexy lips.

Exfoliate Weekly

Gently removal dead, rough skin from lips and keep them baby-soft by exfoliating them once a week. Apply a dab of petroleum jelly on your lips and use a soft-bristled toothbrush (like one designed for baby teeth) to gently scrub away rough skin. If more exfoliating power is needed to remove rough skin, mix a couple drops of olive oil into ½ teaspoon of brown sugar, then apply mix with soft toothbrush or fingertip and gently scrub to exfoliate.

Hydrate Constantly

Wear a hydrating lip balm constantly. Use a conditioning lip balm that contains shea butter, beeswax or petrolatum under lipstick or wear alone to keep lips hydrated and moisturized.

Creamy Lipstick

Lipsticks contain ingredients that can actually dry lips and cause them to crack. Choose creamy lipsticks that contain vitamin E and conditioning antioxidants to keep lips soft and sexy. Apply a coat of clear lip balm before applying lipstick to prevent drying.

Sunscreen Protection

Lips are prone to sunburn and need to be protected just like the skin on the rest of your body. Use a moisturizing lip balm that contains sunscreen and make sure your hat brim shades not only your eyes but your lips as well when going outside. Exposure to sun can also cause a painful and unattractive fever blister to crop up on the lip.

Plump, Sexy Lips

Lips thin as we age and you can fight that with products that contain hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid plumps lips up and gives them a fuller, pouty look and helps prevent them from thinning.

Fight Lip Lines

Vertical lines develop around the outside of lips as we age and lip color has a way of feathering out into those lines. Not an attractive look. Fight these lip lines by always applying a night cream around the lips to help keep the skin smooth.

5 lip glosses under $10

Your beauty products could all be high-end designer, you could love drugstore makeup, or you could be a mixture of both. I know I love both high end mascaras and drugstore ones, but I prefer designer lipstick. It doesn't matter what you choose! I love all kinds of lip gloss, no matter what the brand.
Here's a list of 5 lip glosses under $10 that are truly steals. Your lips and purse will be thanking you!

#5: Revlon ColorStay Mineral Lipglaze
For a little under $10, you can buy this wonderful lip gloss that contains minerals and is similar to a stay-on lipstick, but without the annoying top coat. It doesn't dry out lips too bad, but it would be best to condition and exfoliate lips before wearing this, as it pronounces lip lines. It lasts for hours and hours through drinking, eating and talking. My favorite shade to wear is Top Tomato, a bold pink-red.

#4: Almay Pure Blends Lip Gloss Color
95.8% all natural, and only $8! This lip gloss isn't that pigmented, I wear this when I want a sheer tint with lots of gloss. It hydrates your lips with ingredients like papaya and jojoba. It lasts for a reasonably long time, but keep it in your purse for touch-ups. The color spreads evenly but you'll need a mirror to apply it perfectly. I like all the colors, but try Nude for a barely there shimmer.

#3: Maybelline ShinyLicious
Are you ready to meet the sweetest smelling lip gloss ever? Here it is! Maybelline ShinyLicious gives super shiny coverage, perfect for day or night and smells delicious, for around $7. It doesn't lasts as long as other lip glosses, but the shine and color is great. It doesn't dry out your lips, and it tastes nice too! But please don't eat it. I recommend Jam 'n' Jelly, it's the perfect purple-red shade that smells nice. Mmmm...

#2: L'Oreal Glam Shine Sorbet
Almost above the $10 mark, this nearly made #1...but it didn't because of the price. I love how this lip gloss moisturizes my lips but still has a lovely rich color. The glitter is sparkly, and it will plump up your lips, but not much, maybe around 5%. The applicator is soft but a bit weak, it might bend. The Glam Shine collection comes in Sorbet, Holographic or 6 Hours and can cost $9 to $11, depending on the store. Wear the shade Tickled Pink for a sweet, girly pink.

#1: Rimmel Volume Booster Lip Gloss
This is my all time favorite lip gloss under $10!

So this is more a plumper and lip gloss, but I rate it more as a lip gloss because of the AMAZING COLOR! It's glittery, but not in the 4 year old girl way, the glitter isn't that noticeable. It makes lips very shiny, almost glassy. You can build up the color, it's very pigmented but you could wear it sheer or strong. It's a bit sticky, but I find that a lot of the Rimmel glosses are. My favorite color is Provoke, a gorgeous fuchsia - you can buy this for $6 to $7.

There you have my 5 under $10 favorite lip glosses. You can save heaps of money finding products that work just as well as department store brands. You can find some really fantastic lip glosses under $10, this is just a tiny list!
